The campaign for New Patriotic Party’s presidential election is gradually is gradually getting heated. All ten aspirants of the party are vigorously touring the country to interact with delegates of the party on the need to vote for them when the time is due.
Two contenders who are in the race, Mr. Kennedy Agyapong and Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia are both on the field.
Whilst Kennedy Agyapong is campaigning in the home yard of Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia in the North East Region, the Vice President is busily winning votes in the Assin Central Constituency, the backyard of Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong. Interestingly, many of the constituents in Assin Central seem to be on the same ship as the vice president.
Members of the party in the constituency defied directives from their executives indicating none of the party members should wear the T-shirts of the vice president. Most of them were seen in the t-shirts of the vice president as they cheer him up.
“We were told never to accept any T-shirt from the Bawumia campaign team for obvious reasons, but we have decided not to abide by this order,” a polling station chairman indicated in a report by 3news
“This is democracy. We are one party and family. Why should we mistreat Dr. Bawumia because an aspirant comes from here? If Dr. Bawumia wins, how can we go out there to campaign for him to become president if we maltreat him today? This is why I am in his t-shirt,” another delegate is quoted to have indicated.
