Assin North by-election: Afriyie Akoto defies heavy rains, campaign for NPP candidate

Presidential candidate hopeful for the New Patriotic Party and former Agric Minister, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto has defied the heavy rains to campaign for the NPP parliamentary candidate in Assin North, Charles Opoku.

His move forms part of the campaign strategies by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to win the Assin North by-election. Dr. Afriyie Akoto visited Assin Bereku (district capital), Assin Praso, Assin Asempaneye, Akenkanse, Akonfudi, Dansami, Assen Mempasem, Assin Kushia, Assin Senkyem, Assin Brofoyedu, Assin Juaso, Assin Breman, and Bediadua.

He interacted with the voters in these areas and called on them to vote massively for the NPP candidate, Charles Opoku. He believes a vote for the NPP candidate will pave the way for massive developmental projects in the area.

Dr. Afriyie Akoto was accompanied by the National Chairman of the party, Stephen Ayensu Ntim, General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua, National Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B), Deputy Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo Markin, and the Minister of State at the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, Osei Bonsu Amoah.

Dr. Afriyie Akoto has filed his nomination to contest the like of Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong, Alan Kyeremateng and many others in the November presidential primaries of the NPP.
