Support anti-corruption crusade – Mahama urges Nigerians

Former President John Dramani Mahama has expressed concern over the corruption rate in Africa with special focus in Nigeria.

He has urged Nigerians to support the government in the fight against corruption in all sectors of the economy.
The former President was speaking at the 53rd Annual Conference of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers at IIorin, Nigeria.

Mr. John Dramani Mahama indicated that corruption must be tackled from all angles. He believes the canker affects the progress of a nation whether it permeates the private or public sector.

According to the flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress, corruption only thrives when responsible institutions tasked to tackle it fail to function effectively.

Furthermore, Mr. Mahama expressed his belief that individuals who endorse contracts leading to substandard infrastructure contribute to the economic deterioration.
He urged stakeholders in Nigeria and Africa as a whole to unite and defeat corruption in all its forms.

Additionally, he advocated for the implementation of asset declaration mechanisms as a means to combat corruption.
