I went through Depression that nearly took my Life – Amy Newman

Renowned Ghanaian Gospel musician Evangelist Amy Newman best known with songs like Okamafo Jesus,Tsei Me Moborosu, Megya Nyinara Mu has revealed that she went through depression that nearly took her life.

Speaking in an interview with Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson, the host of Connect FM’s Omanbapa morning show, the ‘Okamafo Jesus’ hit maker indicated she was only seeing death during that period in her life.

She adds that it took spiritual deliverance before she was rescued.

“I passed through a lot four years ago, that period was my downtime. For that four years, I passed through depression and I was only seeing death. I could lock myself in the room and the only thing in my mind was death,”

she indicated.

Evangelist Amy Newman has released a new track titled ‘Makoma Ahye Ma’.

According to Evangelist Amy Newman, the release of the new track was triggered after her recovery from the depression.

“I wrote this song (Makoma Ahye Ma) in 2009 but after the depression, I decided to release it as a form of my appreciation to God.”

She adds that the new song has been uploaded on all her social media handles and calls on all to grab visit the social media for it.
