Thousands of scholarships are awarded to University of Manitoba students each year on the basis of their academic standing, interests, and involvement in the community, among other factors.
Applicants must be international students, and scholarships are usually awarded to full-time students based on academic merit and course volume.
Students who receive entrance scholarships must have registered for at least 24 credit hours at the University of Manitoba in the current year to be eligible for the grant.
In most cases, students must apply for and complete at least 80% of the coursework completed in the current academic year to be eligible for the scholarship.
Certain course volume exceptions apply and are designated by the sponsor or sponsor’s representative in the scholarship conditions.
As long as they are enrolled full-time in the Department of Graduate Studies during the fall and winter terms, graduate students are not required to complete a minimum number of credit hours. Based on their need for financial assistance, students can apply for scholarships. Applications for scholarships are accepted through Aurora starting in mid-August and ending on October 1.
