There was confusion in Tamale during a meeting with Kennedy Agyapong, the aspiring presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party and the Sagnarigu chairman of the party, Alhaji Dagoma. The incident according to reports occurred in Tamale on October 21, 2023.
Kennedy Agyapong had gone to the Sagnarigu and Tamale North constituency to meet delegates of the party to sell his idea and the need to vote for him on November 4, 2023.
Whilst addressing the delegates, Kennedy Agyapong indicated that Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia offered GHC 100, 000 to constituency chairmen to vote during the special delegate election.
The allegation was objected by the Sagnarigu Chairman who confronted Kennedy Agyapong to come clear on the bribery allegation. The chairman who is known for being frank immediately asked for the microphone. After grabbing the microphone, the chairman told the delegates gathered that the presidential aspirant was peddling outright lies.
Chairman Dagoma said, “The man is telling lies. He is lying. I am the chairman of the constituency. I voted in the super delegates conference, and nobody gave me GHC100,000 to vote. I will not accept such lies from somebody who wants to lead this party.” He indicated.
