Shame: You pay NABCO trainees GHC700, I pay my driver GH¢5,000 – Kennedy Agyapong ‘punches’ Akuffo Addo

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential candidate hopeful, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has thrown a punch at the President, Nana Addo Addo Dankwa Akuffo by indicating that it is mean to pay personnel under the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) program GHC 700 a month.

Speaking in an interview during his showdown walk in Takoradi, Mr. Kennedy Agyapong revealed that he pays his driver GHC 5,000 and it is shameful for the leadership of the NPP to speak about NABCO as an achievement.

He believes many of the NBCO trainees are university graduates and deserves to be paid more than what they earn right now under the program.

“Vote for someone who will be able to give you a permanent job and not NABCO, the kind of jobs I am coming to create has nothing to do with NABCO.I even pay my driver GH¢ 5,000 cedis a month, and someone who has completed a university, you give the person 700 cedis a month, and you are saying you have created job, so we should clap for you? It’s a shame, because someone who has completed university is taking GH¢700 cedis and those who did not go to school are getting GH¢3,000, GH¢5,000,” he indicated.

Mr. Kennedy Agyapong called on the party delegates to vote for him on November 4 to lead the party and win the 2024 election. He indicates that disparities in employment will be addressed under his leadership.

“So, if I tell you that Ghana’s biggest challenge is unemployment, believe me, if given the opportunity, I will create businesses to tackle it,” he added.

The NPP has slated November 4, 2023, to elect a successor to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as leader of the party.
