Electricity supply continue to be a challenge on the African continent. Many countries within the African Sub-region are mostly plunged into darkness almost every day.
Many governments have tried to find lasting solutions to the electricity challenges but that has not materialized. There have been suggestions that more young people must be trained in the area of electricity to ensure their knowledge impacts positively on the citizens and their countries at large.
Due to lack of financial resources to support young people, high expertise knowledge are low on the continent to solve the energy challenges.
Mostly, international companies are contracted to supply electricity on prepaid/postpaid bases to support the population. Unfortunately, their efforts have refused to find lasting solutions to the energy needs of Africa.
The Schneider Electric Program is specially designed to provide special training to young Africans who have the desire to pursue passions in the sector. The Schneider Electric Program is specially designed for South African young people with average 60 percentage and above excellent academic records across all years of Study.
Candidates who are in the process of completing their final year of Bachelor’s (BEngTech/BScEng/BEng) or have completed a master’s degree in the area of Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences, Industrial Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Digital information, Financial Management, Communication and Marketing among others.
Eligible applicants must be ready to dedicate time for studies in the above mentioned fields. They must also have excellent verbal and communication skills that will enable them to actively communicate with team members and clients.
