NPP has failed, none of its aspirants is a threat to the NDC – Former Local Govt Minister

Akwasi Opong-Fosu former Minister of Local Government and former MP for Wassa Amenfi East has indicated that none of the aspirants of the New Patriotic Party pose a threat to his Excellency John Dramani Mahama.

Speaking in an interview with Kofi Cula, the host of Political Affairs on United Kingdom based Omega Mr. Oppong Fosu asserted that the NDC remains undefeated in the 2024 election no matter how the Ruling New patriotic Party and their amalgamate try to play the incumbency to their advantage.

He stressed the level of mismanagement and corruption the current administration has brought in the era of governance indicating it will be very difficult for Ghanaians to entrust the leadership of the country in their hands irrespective of the one who will emerge as their flagbearer.

“None of the presidential aspirants poses a threat to the NDC. With their failed leadership and the mess created, they would rather pose a threat to the country”. he indicated.

he adds that the NPP government which Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia serves as Vice President have failed all Ghanaians and their pronounce is no more a surprise to anyone.

“He lives in his own bubble. He believes in his own lies, and that is a problem for his own party, and its not a surprise his contenders are appealing to delegates not to vote for any liar,” he added.

Addressing the issue of politics and ethnicity, the former Minster and local Government expert hon. Akwasi Opong-Fosu indicated that politics based on ethnicity and religion has emboldened self-serving politicians to get away with evading responsibility and accountability.

“People are born into families and not political parties as some claim. Until we renew our mindset, on leadership purposes, abuse of power, corruption, and nepotism will persist to the disadvantage of the very people who defend the perpetrators,” he added.
