Most police officers are unhappy under Dampare – Police Chief tells Parliament

COP George Alex Mensah, former Director General (Technical) of the Ghana Police Service has told the bipartisan committee of parliament probing the IGP coup tape that most police Officers are unhappy about how the current IGP, George Akufo Dampare is running affairs.

Admitting to some comments made in a meeting with Bugri Naabu, COP George Alex Mensah indicated that he would not deny his comments indicating the current IGP is not ‘correct’.

He implored the Parliament Committee to investigate the issue and ensure the right things are done.

“I will not deny that the current IGP is not managing the service well and I’ll say this everywhere. You can do your own investigations and find out from all young police officers”, he indicated.

“My concern is that as we speak, majority of police officers are not happy and if this same people are those who are going to police the elections, remember police officers and families vote and that is my concern”, he indicated.
