Ghana Vice President, Dr. Bahamadu Bawumia has over the years become popular in Ghana’s political space. The name Bawumia is now a household name where almost every Ghanaian is familiar with.
He was since 2008 absent in Ghana’s political space. Even though he was in the public sector, politics was absent from his life. In 2008, the New Patriotic Party announced him as the running mate of then candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo.
His experience as a governor of the Bank of Ghana was needed to help the NPP to craft a good campaign message to Ghanaians. With frequent economic lecturers, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia became popular in the political environment of the country.
He constantly punched holes into the economic management under former President John Dramani Mahama until the NPP won the election in 2016. He also became a key witness of the NPP in the Supreme Court after the 2012 election.
But Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia had a young beginning. Pictures of him in 1972 has popped up with young Bawumia looking very energetic and innocent. The picture which was obviously taken and saved by his father has the caption ‘Mamudu in 1972’
In another picture, young Bawumia was seen on a pot in the garden of his father’s house. In others, he was captured with his parents and other siblings.
