Tension is currently thronging through the streets and among residents of Awutu Bereku in the Central Region after a young man believed to be a notorious land guard in the area stormed the police station to release a suspect.
It is reported that the land guard whose name has been given as Razark was at the station to forcefully release his colleague who has been arrested and was being arraigned before court.
He succeeded in taking away his friend but the police swiftly re-arrested them. It took swift intervention of the Police Patrol team to fire several warning shots before the suspect and his friend were Re-arrested.
Sources say the Police managed to arrest one of the suspects and after Razak had information that, his friend has been arrested, he stormed the police station to free him leading to the gunshots.
Awutu Bereku District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Joshua Semanyo confirmed the incident but failed to grant further interviews.
