The Ghana Police Service has indicated its readiness to protect the minority members of parliament to embark on a demonstration against the Bank of Ghana.
The minority in Ghana’s Parliament have expressed their grievances over what they perceive as reckless management of Ghana’s central bank and how they lost GHC 60 billion in its 2022 financial report.
The minority have indicated that the governor of the Bank of Ghana Dr. Ernest Addison, and his deputies must resign immediately before a twenty-one-day given ultimatum ends.
They have since informed the police about their plan to demonstrate. In a release signed by the head of Public Affairs Unit SP Juliana Obeng and spotted by this portal, the Ghana Police Service has agreed to protect the minority to exercise their rights.
