Bawumia bribing NPP Chairmen with GHc 50k for vote – Kennedy Agyapong’s ‘boys’ alleges

The race for the New Patriotic Party presidential election is gradually getting hotter by the day. Accusations from camps of the various aspirants have started popping up and it appears the vice president is the main culprit.

The camp of Mr. Kennedy Agyapong, an aspirant of the NPP presidential race has made several allegations against the vice president.

According to them, they are informed the vice president has been luring some chairmen in the party with money to vote for him.

A statement signed by Lawyer William Kusi, the Head of Communications for Mr. Kennedy Agyapong, indicated that Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia is on a path to winning the election at all costs.

“Information reaching us indicates that the camp of the vice president is buying the votes of the chairmen and requesting them to register as proxy voters. He is offering as much as fifty thousand Ghana cedis per chairman to accomplish that diabolic agenda. We call on the party to take immediate action and ensure that there are free and fair elections to avoid any misunderstanding and subsequent protestation after the conduct of the elections,” parts of the letter alleged.

He adds that some party chairmen are being given GHC 50,000 for them to register as proxy voters. He says the money is also to ensure that party Chairmen have no other option than to vote for Dr. Bawumia.

But the allegations have been refuted by the administrator of the NPP in the Ashanti Region, Paul Kwabena Yandoh. He indicates that the camp of Kennedy Agyapong keeps boasting of wealth and does not understand why they are complaining if someone else is sharing money.

“Why do you people accuse others from the opposing camp of sharing money? Sometimes, when you meet people, they claim that others are giving away two hundred thousand, plus cars. And now the lawyer is also saying that they are sharing GH¢50,000, which makes the ordinary Ghanaian worry that the NPP primaries are all about money. This is not true, do you understand? He queried.
